Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Appeal

My brother is Attica, NY State Prison, convicted of Negligent Homicide. His appeal, filed by Legal Aid, was denied and he was just notified that he could request a delay to consult an attorney but it must be filed by 6/4/07. I am seeking a law firm, preferably in NJ, to advise me. I can e-mail the suppoting documents prior to consultation.

I am admitted to practice law in both New York and New Jersey, although you need someone admitted in New York because your brother is dealing with a New York case and New York courts.

What exactly do you need. It sounds like your brother's conviction was affirmed by the Appellate Division and he is looking to make an application to the Court of Appeals (New York's highest level court) to review his case.
