Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Appealing a conviction

I was recently indicted with family members of Insurance Fraud, grand larceny, falsifying business records a total of 60 charges. We took it to trial and me and my husband were convicted of falsifying business records which has nothing to do with insurance fraud. What do you think the chances are of winning an appeal in appeals court?

Re: Appealing a conviction

Your question cannot be answered based on your limited post. It is hard to reverse a criminal conviction. The only way to learn about your chances is to speak with an attorney who does appellate work and have him/her read the transcript of the trial to see if there were reversible errors.

Eric is correct. Your limited description is only part of the problem. Appeals are won and lost on the law, not the facts usually. You have to have a professional look over the transcript of the trial before he can even suggest a path to follow much less an outcome.

My firm handles a lot of appeals, both criminal and civil. If you are interested in speaking about your case, you may reach me by following the links below.

Good luck.
