Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Not sure exactly which area of law this question falls under, but I want to apply for a firearms license. I have a sealed/expunged juvenile record and will need to submit a certificate of disposition pertaining to my juvenile case along with my firearm application. By applying for this license, will I be unsealing my record, thereby making it a matter of public record visible to inquiring minds?
Thank you very much. I appreciate your advice.

No, The case should be opened for the limited purpose of giving the accused his own information. It should then remain sealed.
