Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I was arrested for carrying a pocket knife and charged with a felony. It was a small knife but a 'gravity' one so I now know those are illegal. Should I accept the charge as a misdemeanor, try to get it downgraded further as a violation or is it worth fighting to get it thrown out completely. I am only here on my green card and worrying about how it would affect me applying for my citizenship and also how it would affect future jobs. This is my first arrest.
