Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
arrested for shoplifting
I was in a store after much trying in returning 2 items unsuccesfully, this after a customer service person rememberd me siding weeks ago with another customer also returning an item and causing a scene-(he was allowed then to return item)I felt it was why I was not allowed to return items- because of this scene- I wanted to pay more for another product in exchange-but was not allowed. I got so upset-went then to buy the other item, which I did buy for $70.00-but in return-I got mad and tore boxes of same items I was not allowed to change- on shelf-took items out and got arrested for shoplifting afterwards. I never did anything like this before-4 years ago, my 13 year old son passed on-and ever since-I have been siding with people needing help- standing up for and with people and am so scared, I know I went to it the wrong way and at what will happen when I go for desk appearance tomorrow. Thank you for your help.

Re: arrested for shoplifting
You are a bit late in asking for help, however although you do not have a defense,it may very well be possible to plea bargain. An acceptable plea would be a violation and either a fine or community service. If you postpone the case to secure counsel, I can help you achieve your best result.
