Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart it was under 30.00 and i have never been arrested in my life, i am a 46 year old disabled female and live in NY and never been convicted of a crime, I know what i did was wrong ,i am very sorry. I went to church ,confessed my sin , i was overcome by greed, i lost my leg in a farming actcident at age 13 and my mother never hired legal council i got a tiny annuity that pays me monthly, which is below the cost of living , i know this is no excuse for what i did, I just was over come I put wax melts soap,and a few christmas ortiments in my purse a plan cloths security guard saw me , waiting for me to check out and stoped me at the door, asked me to open my purse, then when i gave the stuff back went thru my entire pursequestioned me about things that were mine that walmart does not even carry called the police then they went through my purse, again question me, i had packed things for an over night stay at my sister n laws to get my hair colored, i had leggings and contact lens stuff, make up and deodorant, all these things were mine, i was not read my rights taken to the police station ,they finger printed me ,released me to my husband with a court appearance ticket, i do not want a criminal record for one weak moment in life , what can i do to avoid a criminal record
