Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I was arrested for a warrant for an unpaid fine they also found a half a pill of medication on me which was a controlled substance but i have prescription for it. I have two questions 1. If i can prove that i have been prescribed that medication will the charges be dropped?
2. Also they never read me my rights nor did i ever sign any paper explaining my rights to me is ther anything i can do with that as well?

A valid prescription for a legally prescribed medication should result in a dismissal under section 170.
It should be dismissed. All the prosecutor should require is a letter from your doctor explaining that he did precribe the pill.
