Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I asked a law firm to prosecute my child who stole 3.00 worth of candy from a Walgreens because they are asking for 372.00 to avoid a civil suit. I rather go to family court because my son is rude enough to say just pay it. Should I write to them again to the same effect or will they just demand more money?

This is not a family court matter. You are liable under N.Y. General Obligation Law for a judgment of shoplifting to an emancipated minor. Perhaps you should check with the Family Court for assistance in curtailing your son's inappropriate behavior.
