Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Assault 3

I was assaulted at work by a co-worker and suffered a laceration on my thumb requiring stitches. The police are gona arrest the person who assaulted me and call the person for a desk appearance and want me to be present. I dont particularly want to be present as it is scary just facing that person. If I do go, should I have an attorney with me or is it the DA that does that ?

You will have only the police with you. Rather than having an attorney with you, why not have a friend or family member accompany you, or if you do not have someone you think is appropriate, call a private detective and ask that he provide you with personal security for the visit. It shouldn't cost more than $350-$500 dollars. Good Luck.
