Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Assault 3rd degree
My son is 16 and he was charged with 120.1, all I was told is , is that this was a misdemeanor, he was given a desk apearance ticket, to return to court on May 14, 2001 at 9:30 in the morning and I would like to know what course of action should I take.

Your son is a mandatory youthful offender. This means that if he is convicted of the charge, he will not have a criminal conviction, but he can still get six months in jail or three years probation. You should hire a lawyer for him.

Hire an attorney as quickly as possible
No one should ever go to Court without
an attorney
Given his age, there are numerous ways
to preserve your son's future and leave
him with no criminal record.
