What is attempt assault in Brooklyn,NY
My brother in law was aressted 12-25-2010
When he called he was at rykers island
Hes being charged with attempt assault but
none of us are being answered all we "family"

One example of Attempted Assault is if you take a shot at some one and miss it is attempted assault. Or if you come at some one with a club, but you hit him with a glancing blow so he is not injured, it is Attempted Assault.

An assault is essentially the improper touching of another, generally injurious in intent... It could range from a missed punch to an attempted shooting that is not completed. In order to be chargeable there has to be some action toward the goal of the completion of the assault, and the action has to bring one close to actually completing the assault.
