Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

background check error

Recently when applying for jobs my background check came up with an error, it says I have a mistermeanor, but I never had one. I got a ticket in ny where I was living before I moved to PA. I went back to NY and paid the fine and they also confirmed that I don't have anything on my record. This is costing me jobs. How can I get this error removed from my record. I have tried to get the company that did the background check to reinvestigate and get this removed, but upon reinvestigating they still come up with the same results and said they will forward to my current employer. what should I do?

Re: background check error

If the Background check company is saying you are a convicetd criminal and you are not they are defaming you. You need a lawyer to sue/ threaten suit to have them correct their behavior. I offer free consultations.
