Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Bail versus arraignment

In New York State, if a person is arrested for murder (actually for two murders), will she have a separate bail/bond hearing and arraignment, or are these matters attended to at the same hearing. Also, in what court in a county would such a procedure take place? I am doing research for a novel. Thank you!

Re: Bail versus arraignment

bail applications can take place at arraignment, and they usually do... the arraignement ,as per the crimes, depends on whether there was one arrest for both crimes, if so then there will be one arraignment. If there were two seperate arrests then there will be two seperate arraignments. Generally all crimes in NYC are dealt with at the criminal court level first, unless there has been an indictment from the begining which takes the case to supreme court instead.. feel free to email me for future reference.
