Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

big problem

my girlfriend barowed her friends ring and the girls parents asked were the ring was so that she didn't get in trouble she said my girlfriend took the ring and now the parents are pressing charges on her ther is no way for my gf to get out of this cuz she was the last one in the house by herself for a little while till i got ther eto pick her up and the friend swears she new nothing about it how does my gf get out of this shes still in high school and has no mony and only 17 an out on her own no family ?

If she didn't do it then she will have to prove she didn't and maybe who actually did. But if they want to have her arrested then the police will determine whether she should actuallly be arrested based on the facts and circumstances.

Tell her to call the Legal Aid Society or the Public Defender of the County where this happened. They will help her. You should also not say anything more to anyone but her lawyer. You may have some evidentiary value even though you were not there.
