Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

I was at a bike shop trying to buy a seat for my bike when the police drove up and made everyone get on the ground and handcuffed us.. I tried to explain to them that I was only there to buy a seat and that I also that I had had shoulder surgery and that my arm being behind my back was causing me a great deal of pain.. the officers just told me to stop talking and wait.. after about 10min they finally sat me up but did not relieve any pressure caused by the handcuffs.. after another 15min or more they finally took me to the side searched my bag, got my name and address and released me... I would like to know is this grounds for a suit? because now when I hold my arm up in the air it hurts.
