Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
My boyfriend is currently incarcerated in Florida prison. He is down to his last 5 months in a 3 year mandatory sentence. He found out his ex girlfriend filed harrassment charges against him in NY state around late 2006. He was in Florida at the time and had not had any contact with her since Summer 2006. Does he have to go to NY and turn himself in in order to fight that case or can he do it from Florida? Is there a statute of limitation for harrassment charges?

First, yes if there is a warrant for his arrest in New York, he should surrender in New York to fight the charges, it can not be done from Florida. Next, there is a statute of limitations but it will not run out for a long time.
