Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Hi, My brother was charged with 220.16 FB (CRIM POSS CONTRL SUBST-3RD B Felony) and I am not sure what that mean. Any information that can be given on this matter would be greatly appreciated . Thank You

This is a B felony. It is usually charged based on a large amount of drugs or possession with the intent to sell. Depending on his record he may be eligible for a program or he could do jail time. The maximum sentence is 25 years.

The current maximum for 220.16 is 9 years but drug programs and probation are a possibility.
