Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

my brother is being charged with grand larceny, 7 or 8. Heis only 16 yrs. old and they are oofering him 10 yrs. Doen't you think thats over the top?Sould he take the deal or go to trial?What is the normal prison time given for that?

Ten years is definitely over the top; it's too many years to offer a teenager. He needs a good experienced attorney so he can decide whether to take it to trial or negotiate a better plea bargain.
