car impounded for evidence 12/15/07
my car was impounded for a suspension of a robbery. it has been over a year and no convictions. How long can they hold my car?

If it is for evidence, until they need it for trial. Your lawyer can ask the judge to release the car, but judges do not do that too often. Hence it becomes part of the plea negotiations. They would have to prove the vehicle was either purchased with tainted money, or that it was used as an instument of the crime.
