Re: Case infornation

Yeah, your making sense. You want to know what stage the case is in and as it is probably a criminal case you want to know what charges correspond to the numbers.

First you can find out a little about the case status by using the WEBCRIMS or the NYS OCA website. Google it for the most up to date info.

If that doesn't have sufficient info, call the DA's office and ask to speak to the public information officer. He might be able to give you more information. DON'T DO THIS IF YOU ARE THE DEFENDANT, CALL YOUR LAWYER.

As for what the charges are, put the number of the charge into Google and you will find the charge or go to the Cornell site LII go into the NY Statue directory and look them up. (ie Google: NYS Penal law 120.10 (1) and you should get a lead to find that it is an assault in the first degree a Class C felony.)

For the specific acts alleged you will have to get a copy of the charges which under most circumstances is available by going to the court clerk's office and making a request.

Good luck.
