Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Chances of going to Criminal Court?
I stole a bottle of juice and some cashews roughly worth 10$ from duane reade and I received my civil demand letter for 75$.
If I pay the amount, what are the chances that Duane Reade would bring me to court over 10$ worth of merchandise and when would I find out if they decided to bring me to court or not.
I shoplifted on 10/15 and i got my civil demand letter on 11/3.
Oh I'm 17 by the way.

Its not Duane Reade who brings you to criminal court. Its the District Attorney's office.
