Grand Larceny, and the penalties range from 5 years probation to upstate jail time and fines.

The cut-off between grand theft and petty theft is 2500 dollars. Grand is a felony punishable by imprisonment.

If this is the only charge, the punishment is likely to be (1) a requirement to pay back the money and (2) a plea to a misdemeanor, petty theft.
