Re: I need help
You should contact attorney in your area who is familar with the court. The judge should have told you what he would do if you completed the program. Since I don't know the judge or court, I can't tell you what the local practice is. Generally however if you don't do what the judge tells you, things could get and will get worse.

If convicted of Petit Larceny (shoplifting)
you could be sent to jail for one year
This sounds like the court making a condition
of treatment as an alternative to either
a sentence, or a conviction. It sounds an
awful lot like the first step to an
adjournment in contemplation of dismissal
which is a disposition that results in a
sealing of your record without criminal
conviction after six months if no further
offense are committed and other conditions
met, such as completing the course or
community service
So, yes, things can get a lot worse
