Can you press charges on someone who made false statement

Yes, go to the police and show them the false statement or better yet, hire an attorney to do it for you so it doesn't splash back at you.
Remember DA's offices are loathe to take a case like this unless the perjury is clear cut. If it is possible another reson for the error exists, they will usually not take the case. This is especially so when they have prosecuted on the say so of the false claimer.
