Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

cival law

i was charged with petit larceny and conspiracy.i went to court and the DA made bargain with my lawyer and the judge that if i plead guilty they would reduce the charges to disorderly conduct.i agreed and the judge informed me that it would not be on my file. i recently applied for a job and they ran a credit report and the report showed that i have 2 misdemeanors(conspiracy & pettit larceny) the boss wants me to provide proof that this is inaccurate and i am too embaressed to let him know what actually happened!! what do i do now?should this have come up on my report or is there a mistake somewhere?

Re: cival law

generally, the background search tends to turn up arrests... arrests in Ny are NEVER removed from your record... hence, why they are showing up. Overall, your best bet would be to get a l etter of disposition from the clerk of the court you went to, and provide this as proof that you have no misdemeanor convictions on your record... this would be your best bet.

much luck!
