Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Civil law suit

Can you tell me if a licensed plumber in NY who says he is retired still use a NY State plumbers license? Can he still use it if he has a criminal record and served time in jail? I didn't see anything on your list for civil law. He owes 125,000 and says he hasn't worked in a few years, his wife collects his salary and says she keeps the books. I am wondering if it is legal to still use a State license with a criminal record, since he served 1 1/2 years in jail for assault with a deadly weapon which is why he owes for damages in a Civil Lawsuit. We have been unable to collect.

A plumber CAN always find work, even if he is not licensed. I don't believe that a criminal conviction would necessarily cause the loss of a plumber's license. You should call the licensing agency who issued the license to check out this question.

If you want to know if he is working as a plumber you can spend a few dollar to have him followed around for a few days.
