Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Confessions after Death Penalty
What happens if someone is executed, and then is found innocent as the real killer confesses.
What would happen to the confessor? (Assume that he is telling the truth). Would he be tried for the murder, or as it has already been done, is he free?

Re: Confessions after Death Penalty
The conviction of the innocent man can be vacated and the real killer prosecuted.
