Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Have not been contacted after five months after initial complaint for a maybe small theft case. How much longer will it be until I hear something?

That all depends on the police department that you are dealing with and if you are the complainant. If you were not charged with anything, then don't worry. If you made the complaint, the police will contact you when they need any statements. You can check with the precinct that answered the call.
