Re: court appearance

The Judge likely issued a bench warrant for you, especially if you did not have a lawyer in court to explain what happened. You should first try and reach the court clerk in the part and explain so they know. You should get yourself to court ASAP (they call it a voluntary return on a warrant). If you get back quickly and voluntarily, I doubt anything will happen to you as a result of missing court because the charge is minor -unless you have missed court before, have a horrible criminal record or there is something else I don't know. Marajuana cases are minor and the court just wants to resolve them. The above is for informational purposes only. This is not meant to be legal advise as there is no attorney-client relationship.

Re: court appearance

What court did you fail to appear at? Do you have an attorney, and did he appear and ask the Judge to stay the warrant? If not get to court voluntarily ASAP and have the warrant vacated. Then get a new date. A competent criminal defense attorney can resolve charges such as yours quite easily if there are no other complications such as prior drug convictions. I handle matters such as yours on a regular basis, view my web-site or call my office for a free phone consultation.

Re: court appearance

You should contact your attorney if you have one and find out what happened in court first. If a warrant was issued you should make arrangements with your attorney to go to court and get the warrant vacated right away. Do not just show up at the court without an attorney, otherwise the judge may be tempted to set bail if he or she does not like your explanation. If you have your attorney there they can explain the situation on your behalf. If you still have your plane tickets I would bring them with you, so the judge can see if you need any additional proof. If you do not have an attorney you should get one. Please feel free to contact my office if we may be of any assistance.
