Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I have a court date on Monday 3/1 to be sentenced by the judge on a Criminal case....I have appeared in court on 5 previous court dates since September 09 with no resolution reached between my Public defender and the DA.... is there a way to postpone the sentencing for a later date?? I might want to consider hiring a different attorney.....Thanks for your time

It will be up to the Judge to decide whether to grant another adjournment. He would probably be more likely to grant it if you could tell him you have spoken with a specific attorney ( have the name and contact info if requested) and plan to retain him in x days or weeks.
