Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
My cousin turned himself into the police ecause someone gave his name in a murder. When he turned his self in he was unarmed and he was also questioned without a lawyer present and hes was under 18. When I searched for his records in the NYS inmate search. His charges say att murder 2nd class B and posession of weapon class A. My question is how was he charged with murder and a possession of a weapon?

It sounds like he has already been convicted of murder if you found him on NYS inmate search. I do not know the evidence against him or what he said to the police when he was arrested. If he was over 16 he can be questioned without a parent or lawyer present.
