Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

my husband was arrested on a possesion charge and he did not it was in the house he is already on parole wit 13 months left and has 2 felonies already the da wants to offer him 2 years with 1 1/2 post supervision or goto trail the public defender says that he might loose the trail and it go from 3-12 years and parole has a hold on him so we do not know parole will do but we was wondering if parole would let him out on a ferlow for a while to spend time with his family and take care of alot of medical bussiness and health issues because he is sick while briefing you on the case what do you think of what the da is offering and what the parole might do

There are just too many facts that we do not know to even begin to advise you. I would strongly suggest you get together with the PD on the case. If you feel uncomfortable with either his experience and or his committment you should try to hire a private attorney. It is however better to use an experienced PD who will fight for you, than a cheap private lawyer who intends to make a quick buck and dump your case. If you can afford a quality private defense attorney, would be your best course of action.
