how do i drop charge filed against my ex husband,he threated to blow my brains out in heated arguement.he did have unregistered gun in holster in my home where he was also residing.i was scared filed a report he next day as i was scared .so i had the police come to my home and take it away from where he kept it.i had no knowledge of how serious this offense is.i do not want to press my charge now .how do i go about dropping this and wil it lessen the penality for him.please advise.thank you so much

You should speak with his criminal defense attorney. The reality is that you cannot drop the charges, only the prosecutor has the power to do so. The prosecutor may try to compel you to testify by serving you with a subpoena or may even have you arrested if you fail to cooperate. You may need to retain your own attorney to advise you on your rights.
