Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Criminal defense
I missed court date at 02/03/09 due to nose blood streaming and next day I went to court at 120 Schermerhon St. in Brooklyn and was forwarded to the Summons Office where I received my docket #2008SK138992 and tel# 347-404-9440 to call next day in order to clear the summons. Today I placed the call and they said they got no papers yet for the February 3. What should I expect and do I need to hire a lawer or I may postpone it.

Re: Criminal defense
By failing to appear a warrant was likely ordered. You must go to court to vacate the warrant and then perhaps dispose of the case. Since I don't know the specific charges, I can't tell you if a privately retained attorney is necessary. I can say if you can afford one it is preferable.
