First of all this is somewhat rare. However, a petition can be made to the court to terminate probation for cause, and perhaps a few other measures can be taken.
If an individual is on probation they may be arrested for any minor violation of the law and would face much more serious penalties as a result, including being returned to serve out the entirety of sentence if there was any early release... or face longer sentencing as a result if violation.
