As a general rule, most offenders convicted of sex offenses have to register. Your husband will be given a proposed "rating" before being released and he will have an opportunity to challenge that rating with the NYS Board of Examiners for Sex Offenders. His rating or level will determine the type and amount of restrictions that are imposed upon him once released.
