death of defendent

grandfather died andafter his death the gov.fied charges against him.. told them he was dead and submitted cert. since we have the same name I want to get this done. now I have to file a motion to dismiss but cat fine any rulings.. HELP Im broke and cant afford a lawyer thnkyou

Call the Assistant US attorney handling the case, and tell him what's up. If that doesn't work, contact the Federal defender in the district where he is charged and ask them if they can file the motion for you. If not call the state or local bar and see if they have a pro bono panel. Finally try the Federal Bar Council Association for your federal district and see if they have a member who will help you.
