Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
A defendant, who lives out of state, commits a misdemeanor in NYC and then returns to their home state. Does this have any impact on the statute of limitations? Would the time frame be 2 years or would it be extended?

If a bench/arrest warrant has been issued the case is still viable as long as the police have exercised some due diligence in locating the defendant.
