If I made a statement to the plice on a crime is the defense attorney suppose to knock on my door and ask me questions?

Yes. As a witness, you have a duty to provide unbiased information, regardless of whether the questions are asked by the police, the prosecutor, the judge, or the defense attorney. Both the prosecutor and defense counsel are Officers of the Court. If the defense attorney did not interview you, he or she would not be doing their job properly. Police reports do not contain all of the information provided by witnesses and are often written in a hurry; in short, they leave out more than they put in. The role of the defense attorney is to conduct an independent, unbiased investigation that is geared toward finding out all of the facts.
