doesnt the DA'S office have to share their information with the defense attorneys? I live in NY State

Generally, the answer is "yes" with certain exceptions such as attorney-work product and privileged materials.

HELL YES. There are incredibly tiny exceptions, which I doubt are relevant to you. Ask former DA Mike Nifong if DA's have to share their files.
