Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Disorderly Conduct-Incorrect Ticket
I received a ticket for Disorderly Conduct last night, for hosting a party that got out of hand. My ticket says violation 240.20-3, which I researched and that is using obscene language and gestures in a public place. The officer said the complaint was for noise, which should be 240.20-2. Can I dispute this due to the ticket being incorrect? There is no way charges for obscenity are correct, the office thanked me for being so cooperative. And what can I expect of this whole thing? I'm a college student and can't exactly afford a lawyer.

Re: Disorderly Conduct-Incorrect Ticket
I would appear and simply move to dismiss because you were never apprehended in a public place. Period.
