Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Dispute over a Bill
A group of friends and I were invited to a friend of a friends party. When we arrived, there was no mention about costs and payment for the drinks and entertainment, so we ordered what we wanted, assuming it was already paid for; in fact the friend who invited us said that there was probably free beer. When we left, we got a call saying that we owed 300 dollars for drinks we ordered, in addition to the cost of being at the party. This was never made clear to us, nor was there any communication by those people at the party , so we are wondering if there are any grounds for a lawsuit.

Re: Dispute over a Bill
No. It's your responsibility to pay for services and products ordered, and your responsibility to find out who's paying if you aren't.
