can you expunge a felony??
i have what i know think is 2 felony possession convictions in NY from 1995. i thought these were midemeanors and paid the fine and left the state 6 yyears ago and never heard another thing about it.
how should i go about accessing my records?? and trying to get this lessened or expunged- ??

There are two ways to expunge a record in New York. The first is a pardon through the Governor's office, which is rarely given. The better way is to try to reopen the case with a CPL 440 motion, which stands a better chance of sucess.

Certificates of Conviction can be obtained
from the Court in which the conviction arose
Convictions are never expunged
You can obtain a Certificate of Relief from
Disabilities for employment purposes. This
requires an application to the Court where
the conviction was had.
