You should retain a lawyer in New York and get this warrant taken care of, since the warrant may be in the system and you run the risk of being locked up at what may be an inconvenient time.

There is a warrant squad that handles casessuch as this, they are officers who specifically only search out those who have warrants from specific courts... They will come after you, i would suggest hiring an attorney to turn yourself in as soon as you get back.

Get back to NY ASAP ,retain a competent criminal defense attorney. That attorney will arrange for a surrender and expeditious bail hearing.Then you can plan a defense or plea bargain.
