Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
false arrest
I was accused of harrassment by my ex-boyfriends wife. She said I stopped at her 14 year old sons bus stop and verbally threatened physical violence upon him. I was at work at the time this supposidly happened. My boss and the customer whos house I was at along with my new boyfriend who also works with me all will verify I was not in the area at that time. This family continually harrasses me and tries to get me in trouble with the police. Also in Feburary the wifes sister called to tell me that she was going to kill my child. She was arrested for this 10 days before this family accused me. The police finally caught up with her. The wife said the event happened October 7th but did not report it untill the 10th. I would like to sue them for harrassment, false arrest, mental anguish, and embarrassment because there was a big write up in the town police blotter. I have filed a small claims action against them. I do not have money for a lawyer, but I think this might stop them from harrassing me further. Any suggestions?
