Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
i was falsely accused of stealing from a store and i never made it out of the door, i was in possession of the item and when the alarm sound i stopped and contacted an employee, i was not stopped, they then called the police and so on, i was wondering if since i did not even get out of the doors and was still at least 5 yards from the door if it was technically stealing
