can a felony be dropped to a class a misdemenor and then to harrassment and does this stay on your record for life

It's complicated, but the simple answer is yes: the charges can reduced, amended, or superseded. A conviction to a violation can be sealed, but there usually remain some trace of a record. You should contact your attorney that resolved your case for further imfirmation.
