Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Filming Euthenasia
Hi,
I'm a film student attempting to
figure out whether it is legally
possible to make a film in which a
person who has previously decided to
end their life does so, on camera. Is
there any way to do this in such a
way that the filmmakers involved will
not be legally responsible as aiding in
the suicide, provided that there is
evidence that the crew did not
actually aid or change the
progression of events in any way?

Post Kivorkian, I personally think you are taking a very big chance. If you are seriously considering this you should do so by remote, set up the camera and be as far away from the situation as possible.
