Interesting question. If the money found showed an indication of ownership, you would be obligated to contact the owner. If the money found did not contain an indication of whom the owner is, you could call the local police and ask if anyone has inquired with them about loosing their money. Other than that you have no obligation to search further as to whom the owner is.
