my friend is from bronx new york and my friend has been on probation for 6 year he thought he was done so he stop going but he wasn't done 4 months passed and he get a letter in the mail saying they started working my violation papers what is he supposed to do?

Your friend needs to immediately obtain legal counsel and immediately contact his probation officer before he or she is taken into custody for a parole violation.
